- Candidates paying concessional fee but later failing to provide valid reservation/disability/domicile certificates may be disqualified. They may choose to pay the general fee voluntarily to secure their candidature.

Educational Qualifications
- For 71st Combined (Preliminary) Competitive Examination (General Posts):
- Graduate degree from a recognized University or equivalent examination.
- For Financial Administrative Officer & Equivalent:
- Graduate degree in Commerce, Economics, Mathematics, or Statistics from a recognized University or affiliated institution.
- Important Note:
- Candidates must provide complete information about their Graduation or equivalent qualification in the online application.
- For posts requiring special educational qualifications or optional subjects, candidates must select the specific post during online application; otherwise, their claim for that post will not be valid.
- Candidates appearing in the final year/semester of their Degree course can also apply, but must submit proof of passing the degree examination before the interview.
Selection Process
- The selection process for the Integrated 71st Combined Competitive Examination will consist of three stages:
- Preliminary Examination (प्रारम्भिक परीक्षा)
- Main (Written) Examination (मुख्य (लिखित) परीक्षा)
- Personality Test / Interview (व्यक्तित्व परीक्षण)
- Preliminary Examination (Part-1):
- General Studies subject, objective type, multiple-choice questions.
- Duration: 2 hours.
- Total Marks: 150.
- Negative Marking: 1/3rd (0.33) mark will be deducted for each wrong answer.
- Minimum Qualifying Marks: General-40%, BC-36.5%, EBC-34%, SC/ST/Female/PwD-32%.
- Main (Written) Examination (Part-2):
- Candidates successful in the Preliminary Examination will fill a separate online application for the Main Exam.
- Compulsory Subjects:
- (i) General Hindi (01): 100 Marks. 30% marks mandatory to qualify, but marks will not be counted for merit.
- (ii) General Studies, Paper I (02): 300 Marks.
- (iii) General Studies, Paper II (03): 300 Marks.
- (iv) Essay (38): 300 Marks.
- Optional Subject (One to be chosen): 300 Marks (Objective/MCQ based for general posts, Subjective for Financial Administrative Officer). Marks will be counted for merit.
- Minimum Qualifying Marks for Main Written Exam (for each paper separately): General-40%, BC-36.5%, EBC-34%, SC/ST/Female/PwD-32%.
- Personality Test / Interview (Part-3):
- Candidates successful in the Main Exam (2.5 times the total vacancies, category-wise) will be called for the Personality Test.
- Total Marks: 120.
- Participation in the interview is mandatory. Failure to appear will lead to exclusion from the final merit list.
- Medical Examination: After the Personality Test, all candidates will undergo a mandatory medical examination by a Medical Board. A fee of ₹16/- is payable at the time of examination. Candidates failing to meet medical standards for a specific service will not be selected for that service.
How to Apply Online
- Candidates must apply online through the official BPSC website: https://bpsc.bihar.gov.in or https://onlinebpsc.bihar.gov.in.
- One Time Registration (OTR): It is mandatory to complete OTR on the BPSC website for various examinations. OTR creates a profile and dashboard for the applicant.
- OTR Process:
- Click on "New user Registration Button" for OTR.
- Provide valid and active Email ID and Mobile Number. (These cannot be changed later).
- Name, Father's Name, Mother's Name, Gender, Aadhaar, and Date of Birth entered during OTR cannot be changed.
- Upload required documents (PDF format, max 100KB) through Digilocker Account.
- Profile Creation (Six Steps):
- Personal Information (including category, PwD, sports, ex-servicemen, government employee details).
- Address Information (Permanent and Correspondence).
- Other Information (criminal proceedings/convictions, if any).
- Qualification Information (from 10th onwards, including marks, percentage, attempts, etc.).
- Experience Information (if any, type of employment, department, post, pay, dates).
- Upload Photo / Signature and Profile Lock:
- Live photo capture via webcam (white/light background, sufficient light).
- English and Hindi signatures (scanned image, .jpg/.jpeg format, max 15KB, dimension 220x100 pixels).
- After "Lock Profile", active advertisements will appear under "New Advertisement Tab".
- Proceed to "Submit & Pay Fees" for the desired advertisement.
- If any error occurs, candidates can cancel the application and re-apply, but the fee will not be refunded.
- Ensure all details match original certificates. Discrepancies will lead to cancellation.
- Keep the registered Email ID and Mobile Number safe until final results are published.
- Do not wait for the last date to apply to avoid internet/banking issues.
- Keep 4 copies of the latest photograph for future use.
- Download and print two copies of the filled application form from "My Account Tab" after final submission. Keep all related original certificates/documents safe.
Important Notes from Notification
- Candidates are not required to send hard copies of the application form or documents to the Commission's office.
- The Commission is not responsible for any errors in the online application due to incorrect/incomplete information provided by the candidate.
- Candidature will be cancelled if any discrepancy is found between the information filled online and the original certificates.
- Candidates who have been debarred from examinations by UPSC/State PSCs/other selection commissions due to misconduct are not eligible.
- No changes/corrections will be allowed in the application details after the profile is locked or the application is submitted.
